15 results per page

I checked out ask.com, and one thing I liked more than I expected was result pages with a default of 15 results. 50% more likely to find something on the first page, and without a noticable increase in the query time.

(I've always wondered about this. Who says that a round number like 10 is the best default for number or results/page? What if the optimal was 9? Or 17?)

Anyway, I had to compare search.yahoo.com, with the cleaner look I use all the time, and clicked Preferences. From there, all sorts of cool settings I didn't know existed are available. And yes, one of them is to have 15 results per page. I'm happy. -m
