Yahoo! Answers

Yahoo! Answers is an interesting concept, and nicely executed here.

What I'd like to know is: does it give common questions a well-known, RESTy URL? Or are the URL's full of extra stuff, not really useful from a REST standpoint, merely adding overhead to folks that proverbially want to put the URL on the side of a bus?

As an experiment, here's my question, How do I approach a publisher of a commercial CD to get permission to use their music on a podcast?

I note that the URL is quite long, and has two main parts: after the ; a _ylt and after a ? qid. Does the above link work for general users? Chopping out the _ylt portion gives a nicer URL. Does that one still work for everybody? If yes, what's the point of putting all that extra stuff in there?

Finally, as I write this, my question has no answers yet, so perhaps you can help out there too!

Feel free to add comments here with your experience. -m

Second link works indeed. Let's hope Joshua can exert some influence in the URI department..
