X-treme Barefoot

Exercise is about more than burning calories or building muscle.

Today I did a barefoot figure-8 walk around the Yahoo! campus, around the extremely pebble-ridden trail in back, up and over the big hill (from where you can look down on the 4-story parking structure), and back.

After walking on the rocky road, getting back to the cool cement feels like a soft pillow. :) Walking is different experience when you feel every step, and can tell just how your joints, muscles, and soles are responding.

Give it a try, but start out easy if you're not used to it. If it hurts, back off. :) -m
