Write for BPM Focus

Friday is a terrible day to announce new things, so consider this a pre-announcement and a call for writers.

On Monday, I'm launching a new online publication called BPM Focus. Business Process Management is something one layer up from specific technologies like XForms, where I've historically been active, so if nothing else, this will be a chance for me to widen out and understand a bigger piece of the world.

I'm looking for writers. BPM Focus is vendor-neutral, but anyone can contribute an article as long as it's not overly marketing-oriented or something readers would consider a product pitch. Especially, I'm looking for easy-to-read descriptions of BPM-related technologies (for example, like Joseph Chiusano's article on BPEL), real-world experiences with choosing and deploying BPM, and editorials. A regular column is a strong possibility. On the site, the "Contact Us" link has full submission details.

The publication is officially in beta mode and on a monthly publication schedule. On the other hand, the section about news items, and "Planet BPM" with hand-selected blog entries will update more frequently--probably daily if all goes well. Check back often. I'm also terribly curious to see how well the Google ads on each page will perform. I'll be playing it totally clean (no "please click on these ads" messages, which would go against Google's TOS in any case). We'll see how well a project like this can do.

So, if you've heard about BPM before but still don't really know what it is, this is the site you need to bookmark. If you like what you see, please provide an all-important link as well. Word-of-mouth is the main channel for getting the word out, though I'll announce on a few mailing lists on Monday. Thanks, -m

While my comment to your previous post might've sounded like a SPAM message, it was really not. If you realize that XForms is not taking off as well as it should be, you'll realize that we're taking the wrong approach to sending forms over the web.

When you are sending XML files(using a form) over the web, there's a bigger problem to be solve, because this is essentially exchanging XML over HTTP. This problem has to be solved before implementing XForms. I understand that companies are trying to come up with XForms browsers to solve this problem, but this is a defeinitely a wrong approach.
