		<description>It has a screen that isn&#039;t totally dependent on backlighting like a regular laptop. You would need fairly good ambient lighting, say sunlight, but it is possible to use it that way. It has an &quot;ebook&quot; mode, where the entire unit other than the screen goes to sleep except to turn pages--excellent battery life that way. It reads PDFs and a few other formats.

In the monochrome mode, the screen resolution is excellent. Very readable. -m</description>
